Teaching Artists

Location: Liberty City, Overtown, North Miami, Miami Gardens, South Broward
Type:
Part-Time, Contract
Hours: 6-20 hours per week (between 8:30AM - 11AM, and 3PM - 5PM)

Position Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic teaching artists to expand our music education programs in Liberty City, Overtown, North Miami, Miami Gardens, and South Broward. Teaching Artists will play a pivotal role in introducing students to the world of music, fostering creativity, and promoting emotional well-being.

Tasks & Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging music education lessons to preschool and early learning center students.

- Use the Colorful Violin method to make music relatable through connections with literacy, shapes and colors.

- Adapt lessons to meet the needs and interests of diverse learners.

- Collaborate with school staff to integrate music lessons into the curriculum.

- Provide feedback and progress reports on students’ musical development.

- Attend all scheduled staff meetings, conferences and professional development training

- Adhere to the program’s guidelines and policies for teaching and classroom management.

- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20lbs

Preferred Qualifications 

- Education experience, especially in early childhood settings, is preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Enthusiasm for working with diverse communities and commitment to fostering emotional well-being in children.

- Reliable transportation to travel between program locations.

- Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting.

- CPR, First Aid, and 40-hour certification are strongly encouraged.
