Portia Dunkley is Founder and CEO of Teeny Violini — a double bassist, music educator and arts administrator with more than 16 years working in string and early childhood music education throughout Florida. She holds a bachelor's degree in double bass performance and a Master of Arts in Arts Administration, and her earlier arts-administration and community-partnership work in Liberty City shaped how Teeny meets families where they already are. She founded Teeny Violini's mobile approach to bringing music directly into children's learning environments. In 2021 she also founded the New Canon Chamber Collective, a South Florida chamber ensemble that amplifies Black and Latinx classical artists and composers left out of the traditional canon.
